ES overnight levels today: key levels and SPY equivalents
ES trades nearly around the clock, so the overnight session leaves a map of highs, lows and reactions before the U.S. cash open. This page shows that map for E-mini S&P 500 futures, with SPY equivalents alongside.
US Open Briefing — Mon, Oct 5
Equities enter the open with a pullback off overnight highs, showing a divergence between ES consolidating mid-range and NQ pressing down toward its session lows. ES is currently testing the 7,770 base following a rejection at 7,783, while NQ exhibits sustained selling pressure after failing near 31,220.

What are ES overnight levels?
ES overnight levels are the prices that framed the electronic session between the prior cash close and the 9:30 AM ET open: the overnight high and low, levels the market accepted or rejected, and how they relate to the prior close and prior day range.
LiquidityLevels publishes these in three briefings a day, timed to the Asia, London and US opens, each with an approximate SPY equivalent so options traders do not have to convert.
Why overnight futures matter
- Overnight highs and lows are among the first reference points after the open.
- Whether the overnight session accepted or rejected the prior day high or low frames the type of open.
- Scheduled events, such as U.S. data at 8:30 AM ET, are layered on the overnight map.
How the levels are derived
Each briefing is generated before the Asia, London and US session opens from recorded chart observations on ES (and NQ or ES for cross-reference): where price sits in the visible range, the trend sequence, how it reacted around key levels, and the scheduled events ahead. Levels are then translated into SPY terms using a reference ratio of about 10 (ES points per SPY dollar). The ratio drifts with futures basis and dividends, so the result is an approximation.
